This is a long-running series I’ve been working on over the years during my free time, exploring concepts and my interest in showcasing authentic Indian wear, primarily worn by women. The garment featured is called a saree — a long, single piece of cloth draped around the body. The draping process is often intricate, resulting in beautiful pleats and folds, with the fabric typically adorned in detailed, traditional patterns.

Each character represents an ethereal embodiment of the environment and theme. In this series, I’ve given every character a name — each one thoughtfully chosen to reflect the image’s tone and mood. The names carry meanings rooted in Hindi or Sanskrit.

I used a combination of software to help bring these renders to life — primarily Cinema4D and Arnold Renderer. The highlight of each image is the saree, for which I used real photographic references to recreate the intricate embroidery patterns. This was the most time-consuming part of the process, as crafting and texturing a digital saree often took days of work — mirroring the patience and detail of handwoven craftsmanship.
